Riding the Economic Wave of Uncertainty

September 26th, 2008

The economy is doing some crazy things these day isn’t it? What do all the shifts in the economy mean for you? How is it affecting your business? How is it affecting your family relationships? How is affecting your health & vitality? How is it affecting your lifestyle?

The reasons I ask these questions is because I want you to get some value out of this article. I want you to be able to relate this to exactly what is going on for you. I know for me that when everybody started talking about economy this and economy that and I can’t do that, etc. I was getting really tired of hearing about it. Not because I don’t have compassion for what people are dealing with in their lives, but because we are getting sucked in and wasting our energy on complaining about what the economy is doing.

I always tell people that life is always going to throw things at us. It will have its ups and downs; the economy, birth, death, business. All of these things that happen in our lives are part of living. We get to choose whether we want to become victims of those circumstances. I say that there are only 2 things that we have control over in our lives:

            1. How we react to things that are happening in our lives

            2. How we let it affect us

My point is that we need to stay focused and keep some perspective on what is going on in our lives. I know that the economy is changing, but the economy will always be changing and if it isn’t the economy, there will be something else. Take responsibility for what you want in your life! Go after your business during these times of uncertainty. Step outside of your comfort zone and be willing to try new things to push your business to the next level.

Remember, the only thing that will get you through is what you choose for yourself. Make a shift in your mindset, put one foot in front of the other and whatever you do…Keep moving forward!
